This small island in the middle of the atlantic ocean just feels amazing. From warm temperature, to friendly people and impressive flora and fauna. When you read about Madeira it is said, that there is not much fauna at all, because not much animals made it by themselves to this island except birds, insects and lizards. But I beg you to go out on a whale and dolphin watching trip! We met bottled nosed and spotted dolphins, as well as Blainville’s beaked and tropical whales. Take your time to rest, because you want to climb up the mountains to see the awesome views from the Pico Airiero and Pico Ruivo (both above 1800 meters high) and you don’t want to miss the scenic walks alongside the Levada’s (small water supply channels). As said before – this place felt so good and I hope that we will have another Bolo Do Caco (traditional garlic bread) on Madeira Island again.
